Liberating Structures Workshop: Learn the Rules; Bend the Rules

LINK TO REGISTRATION

Primer Wednesday, August 17th
Bend the Rules Design Studio Thursday, August 18th & Friday, August 19th

8:30 am to 5:00 pm all three days

Liberating Structures (LS) seriously and playfully disrupts conventional patterns in how we work together. A repertoire of 33 methods make it possible to immediately include, engage and unleash everyone in shaping the future together. Prepare to be surprised.

Making waves around the world, Liberating Structures (LS) changes dramatically the way results are generated without expensive investments, complicated training, or shifts in formal structure.

In this workshop, participants will have an opportunity to grow their repertoire, practice bending the rules to get spectacular results, and dive into design with a group of supportive and curious peers. When Liberating Structures are applied, many conventional approaches that people use all the time—open discussions, managed discussions, brainstorms, and presentations—become less attractive or fade away. Over time, the structures help you purposefully shape the culture of an organization and unleash the creative power of teams that work together within it.

On the first day of this workshop, attendees will learn 10+ of the most versatile Liberating Structures and apply them in their everyday and strategic work. On the second and third day, we will practice stringing structures together, strategize on spreading innovations up & out, and give and receive help from the community of learners gathered together. We will emphasize design and application, providing time for coaching, peer consultation, and practice stringing LSs together toward a specific purpose. We encourage participants to bring specific challenges to the workshop so we can work on them together.

Coffee, tea, lunch, and light refreshments will be provided both days.

A limited number of scholarships are available. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship, please contact Jeff Mills with Alpinista Consulting.
