IMMERSION WORKSHOP IN AUSTIN, TEXAS - June 2 & 3, 2015
Tuesday, June 2, 9 am to 5 pm
Wednesday, June 3, 9 am to 5 pm
Austin, Texas
Liberating Structures (LS) are participatory methods that disrupt conventional patterns in how we work together, revealing the collective wisdom of any group. The repertoire of 33 structures make it possible to immediately include, engage and unleash everybody in creatively shaping the future. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to a set of methods that can be applied to their work in order to
address challenges and spark creative action.
When Liberating Structures are applied, many conventional approaches that people use all the time—presentations, open discussions, managed discussions, and brainstorms—become less attractive or fade away. Over time, the structures help you distinctly shape the culture of an organization and illuminate the creativity of the people that work together within it. One Liberating Structure can change a meeting;
the set can transform an entire team or organization.
In this 2-day immersion workshop, attendees will participate in 10+ Liberating Structures and learn to apply them in their everyday and strategic work. On the first day, we will focus on the purpose and core structure of a variety of LS. The second day, we will emphasize design and application, providing time for coaching, peer consultation, and practice stringing LSs together to meet a specific purpose.
